Mobile phones with WiFi on the increase

Mobile phones with WiFi capability has increased making up about one-quarter of Wi-Fi devices, and more smart mobile devices will soon offer 802.11n.

The number of smart phones shipped with WiFi jumped to 139.3 million in 2009, up from 92.5 million in 2008. It is expected that by 2014, 90 percent of all smart phones will have WiFi technology.

iPad WiFi: Does not automatically rejoin known WiFi networks

Symptoms:
Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known WiFi network after restart or waking from sleep. This can occur with some third-party WiFi routers that are dual-band capable when:

* Using the same network name for each network
* Using different security settings for each network
